AUSTRALIAN LEVELS PROGRAM
The National Levels stream has been designed to assist all gymnasts to develop strong foundational gymnastics skills and physical preparation, at the same time provide a competition structure. This system allows the gymnast the flexibility to move from level to level, pathway to pathway, based on their own abilities and goals. There are ten levels where the gymnast has the opportunity to compete at Club, Regional, State and National level, followed by Junior and Senior International categories.

How do I become a 'Squad'/Competitive Gymnast:
Entry into these squads is by invitation from our coaching team. Our recreational and competitive coaches are always on the look out, assessing the quality of our programs, and seeing what members are ready to take the next step in the pathway from recreational to competitive gymnastic training.
In addition to our constant scouting for talent and readiness, we also run invite and open 'Come and Try' days in set periods of the year. During which Coaches are on the lookout for “coachability”- so things such as listening skills, focus, attention, response to feedback, ability to make corrections, a willingness to try new things and so on. New members are welcomed, so we can find the best recreational or competitive program for you, with current members recieving advice on how they can continue to develop within their current program, or be invited to join a new program, be it competitive or recreational.
DGC Gym-Sport Class Descriptions Below:
Men's Artistic Gymnastics (MAG) encompasses the Floor, Pommel Horse, Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars and Horizontal Bar apparatus for competition events, with Trampoline, Strength/Conditioning and Flexibility training assisting skill development, athleticism and injury prevention.
Women's Artistic Gymnastics (WAG) encompasses the Vault, Balance Beam, Uneven Bars and Floor apparatus for competition events, with Trampoline, Strength/Conditioning and Flexibility training assisting skill development, athleticism and injury prevention.
Sports Acrobatics is a discipline of gymnastics that involves only the use of the floor apparatus. In addition, Acrobats will use trampoline, matting, handles and pits to develop their tumbling and aerial skills, and train Strength/Conditioning and Flexibility programs assisting skill development, athleticism and injury prevention.
ACRO incorporates individual acrobatic skills, as well as tumbling and partner acrobatics. Sports Acrobatics combines fitness, fun, team work and gymnastics! It is the perfect sport for beginners to elite and caters for every fitness and gymnastic ability.
Power Tumbling is the perfect sport for gymnasts to develop air/special awareness and the basis of all flips. Tumbling gymnasts will use air tracks, the sprung floor, trampolines, pits and more to develop aerial and tumbling skills. Alongside Squad training, Tumbling gymnasts train Strength/Conditioning and Flexibility programs assisting skill development, athleticism and injury prevention.
Power Tumbling offers an exciting competitive option for gymnasts, many of who also participate in our WAG, MAG and Acro disciplines.
