Offering a more tailored program to suit all levels of physical and mental ability
GymAbility aims to support coaches and teachers to deliver movement programs that are inclusive for all, regardless of level of ability. Participants may or may not have a disability that impacts on participation. It is important to remember that all participants are individuals, and any activities undetaken should consider the individuals needs with the focus on what participants can do, rather than on what they can't.
10 week Terms
- Gym-Jumpers: 10am - 10:45am
- Gym-Leapers: 11am-11:45am
- Gym-Explorers: 12pm-1pm
Parents/Carers:
A Parent/Carer is to accompany their participant throughout their entire session (unless the coach suggests otherwise). Our coaches/Educators are primarily facilitators, with parent/carer supporting their child's engagement in the programs' group and individual activities.
Toilets:
Parents/Carers are responsible for participant's bathroom needs. The venue has a wheelchair accessible toilet, in addition to a male and female accessible toilet stall and a paediatric change table that participants can use before, during and after their sessions.

Hayley started in kindergym with Darwin Gymnastic Club at 18 months old. Her family was heavily involved in the DGC community throughout her childhood, and Hayley continued as a gymnast until she turned 16 as a compeititor in the WAG program and Cheerleading and then in the Adults classes. Hayley started coaching at the age of 11 (Coach Sharon was her mentor) and also volunteered as a judge.
After finishing high school, Hayley started and continued to work as a special education support office (SESO), in a special education school in the Darwin community. Hayley is keen to join her two passions, both special education and gymnastics!

We are excited to welcome Bailey to the team in 2026. Bailey has 7 years of experience, teaching and supporting children with a range of special needs and will team coach with Hayley.
